About the Team

Our People team is responsible for managing and enhancing all aspects of human resources and employee experience. We oversee talent acquisition, including recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new hires, ensuring the Firm attracts and retains top legal talent and business services professionals. The team develops and implements HR policies, manages employee relations, administers compensation and benefits programs, and focuses on training, professional development, work allocation, mobility, and fostering a positive workplace culture. We also handle performance management, employee engagement, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. Through comprehensive HR strategies, the People team ensures the Firm’s global workforce is motivated, skilled, and aligned with the Firm’s objectives.

About the Role

The Experienced Legal Recruitment Specialist will lead all aspects of our recruitment efforts to elevate our lateral associate hiring process and make it a best-in-class function. This role collaborates with Partners and key stakeholders to execute talent strategies, manage the end-to-end recruitment process, and build candidate pipelines for multiple practice groups across all US offices. The ideal candidate will balance stakeholder and candidate relationships, demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills, and ensure a positive candidate experience. The role requires a proactive, strategic, and efficient approach to recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the hiring of lateral associates, counsel, and other full-time, experienced associates such as judicial clerks and LLM candidates.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for multiple requisitions (e.g., job postings, applications, interviews, candidate management, offer process, agency engagement).
  • Proactively mitigate recruitment challenges and communicate regularly with leadership on requisitions within practice group(s).
  • Build and maintain relationships with legal search firms, gather and analyze job market trends, and promote the Firm’s brand.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to build candidate pipelines and engage top talent.
  • Conduct screening interviews to assess candidates’ qualifications and suitability for open positions.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers, cross-functional teams, and key stakeholders to meet hiring needs and goals.
  • Develop deep expertise as a subject matter expert and promote recruitment best practices.
  • Support recruitment initiatives across the Business Services and Experienced Legal Recruitment teams (e.g., branding initiatives, LinkedIn utilization, sourcing efforts).
  • Ensure ATS and recruitment reporting are accurate and proactively share data-centric updates with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the offer process by coordinating with cross-functional teams (e.g., immigration, conflicts, general counsel, compensation, mobility).
  • Ensure compliance by maintaining data integrity in the recruitment process.

Requirements

  • At least five (5) years of recruitment experience within the professional services industry or a search firm, with legal experience preferred.
  • Experience leading a function or workstream on a recruitment team highly preferred.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing team members highly preferred.
  • Expertise in sourcing passive candidates and using applicant tracking systems (experience with Taleo or Workday a plus).
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, ensuring an exceptional candidate and stakeholder experience.
  • Tenacious, growth-oriented mindset with a willingness to embrace challenges and new ideas.
  • Committed to contributing, collaborating, and consulting on the recruitment strategy for the Experienced Legal Recruitment team.
  • Excellent business acumen, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong administrative skills.
  • Effective time management to balance recruiting initiatives, candidate expectations, client needs, and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; self-motivated and achievement-oriented.
