Responsibilities

• Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.
• Executes preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.
• Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
• Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
• Designs mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Performs engineering calculations to determine the size and strength of components.
• Solves design problems and checks computations contributing to analytical designs.
• Prepares, modifies, and releases drawings created in CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to verify fit, form, and function of mechanical designs.
• Evaluates materials and parts for use in new designs, including communicating with current and new suppliers.
• Operates in a team environment with other functional areas, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
• Determines content of items required in support of costing estimates for proposals, including developing bills of materials, engineering hours, prototype requirements, tooling requirements, non-recurring engineering, qualification, and certification action requirements.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training in an aircraft MRO environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience preparing documentation and overhaul manuals.
• Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel and Word.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Experience with aircraft-related activity, including aircraft maintenance and interior standard practice.
• Ability to handle multiple projects, multiple deadlines, and meet aggressive schedules.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, or related field).
• Experience in MRO and/or aerospace industry.
• Strong organization and planning skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
