Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Design, program, and supervise the installation of fire alarm systems, intercom systems, and public address (PA) or surveillance camera systems
- Service, repair, and maintain a wide variety of electronic and audiovisual equipment including cameras, radios, and other electronic devices
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarms, bells, clocks, closed-circuit television systems, intercom systems, public address systems, and lighting circuits
- Operate a variety of tools and equipment used in audiovisual, electronic, and computer repair and maintenance including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, audio frequency generators, capacity testers and soldering irons
- Design and build testing and specialty equipment not available commercially
- Interpret schematic drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Maintain records and prepare reports on installations, repairs, and services performed
- Assist in maintaining inventory of parts and supplies; inspect and maintain stock of parts
- Assist in the daily duties of the Electronics Department office work
- Cook up with permitting and inspection of construction work with Building Standards
- Assist in developing specifications and guidelines for surveillance camera installations
- Act in an on-call status in the event of after-hours emergencies
- Act as and perform the daily duties of the Assistant Supervisor and/or Electronic Supervisor in their absence
- Safely operate a district fleet vehicle to travel to assigned job sites, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company driving policies
- Maintain the vehicle in clean, orderly, and serviceable condition, promptly reporting any maintenance needs, damage, or safety concerns
- Perform related work as assigned or required
