Specialist, Direct Procurement - Exterior Commodity

About the role

The role involves working hand-in-hand with the Scout team to identify the right suppliers for parts and services, including participating in pre-souring audits to confirm the acceptability of new suppliers. It also entails establishing sourcing strategies, leading the sourcing process up to and including contract award for Exterior commodity purchasing, preparing and executing negotiated contractual documents, acting as a program manager during the pre-production phase, evaluating and applying technical changes to parts/services, leading cross-functional evaluations of suppliers' readiness for mass production, managing supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics, and more.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for parts and services
• Lead the sourcing process for Exterior commodity purchasing
• Prepare and execute negotiated contractual documents
• Act as program manager during the pre-production phase

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or a related technical field
• 4+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain in the automotive environment, preferably in a Purchasing role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective negotiation experience specific to automotive Exterior commodity purchasing
• Thorough knowledge of automotive, manufacturing, or related industries
• A reputation for developing and nurturing excellent stakeholder and partner supplier relationships
• Experience managing supplier performance
• Program management experience
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization
• Proactivity, initiative, and the ability to work across multiple workstreams

Qualifications

• Education/Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain or Purchasing, or a related technical field
• Years of Experience: 4+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain in the automotive environment, preferably in a Purchasing role

Pay

Initial base salary range: $90,000.00 - $112,500.00

Schedule

This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This role requires 5 days per week in the office, with flexible options for occasional remote work on an as-needed basis.
