About the role

The Specialist Data Science position offers a 20+ month duration with potential extensions. This role is based in Chicago, IL and is available on a W-2, 1099, or C2C basis.

Responsibilities

• Fine-tune and retrain off-the-shelf YOLO-based models for object detection tasks.
• Apply techniques such as quantization and distillation to optimize models for edge deployment.
• Containerize FastAPI-based web services using Docker and publish results to message brokers.
• Operate within our production architecture using Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop scalable architectures with experience in Python, TypeScript, and related technologies.

Requirements

• Strong experience with computer vision algorithms, particularly YOLO-based models.
• Proficiency in Docker for containerizing web services.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform.

Skills

• Experience with YOLO-based models and machine learning frameworks.
• Docker proficiency.
• Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform exposure.

Pay

Hourly rate depending on experience (DOE).
