About the role
Provide technical writing and specialized program support relevant to the research, development, test, and evaluation activities of complex systems, specifically maritime test and evaluation programs. Develop enterprise-level strategic communications, media relations, and executive messaging initiatives supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Navy, and associated government leadership.
- Translate highly technical engineering and testing concepts into clear, executive-level communications briefs, presentations, and backgrounder documents for senior government leaders, including the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services (SASC).
- Author, edit, and deliver technical blog articles, executive communications materials (speeches, talking points, briefings), and compelling customer-facing materials demonstrating operational capabilities and mission success.
- Develop strategic messaging, leadership communications, and media products to drive public trust, national engagement, and organizational awareness.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency across internal and external narratives.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening—for staff, customer, and organizational level communications, both formal and informal.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs: MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- A minimum of 7 years specialized experience relevant to the research, development, integration, engineering, validation and verification, test, fielding, or maintenance activities of a complex ground vehicle or watercraft system.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information).
- U.S. citizenship at the time of application.
Qualifications
- Accredited high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent. An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of general experience. A Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for four years of general experience.
Desired Experience
- Senior Executive and Department Level communications, presentation development, and public relations.
- Exposure to Navy Sea Range and advanced watercraft program support.
Pay
The typical annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00 USD to $150,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.
