To improve student achievement, this position assists a licensed teacher in planning and implementing educational programs, including IEPs. Educational programs may span general and special education settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of lesson plans aligned with district curriculum standards.
  • Provide support in creating and modifying Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families to enhance learning experiences.
  • Implement instructional strategies that promote student engagement and academic success.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • Valid Oregon teaching license or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
