To improve student achievement, this position assists a licensed teacher in planning and implementing educational programs, including IEPs. Educational programs may span general and special education settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of lesson plans aligned with district curriculum standards.
- Provide support in creating and modifying Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families to enhance learning experiences.
- Implement instructional strategies that promote student engagement and academic success.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
- Valid Oregon teaching license or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
