Special Procedures Technologist Job Summary Performs specialized diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. Operates imaging equipment, prepares patients and procedure rooms, and maintains patient safety and sterile technique throughout procedures. Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field (Required) Minimum 1 year of experience in special procedures, interventional radiology, or a related imaging setting (Preferred) Licenses & Certifications ARRT or applicable professional certification/registration (Required) State radiologic technologist license, where applicable (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Preferred) Key Responsibilities Performs diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures according to physician orders. Operates specialized imaging equipment and ensures quality images are obtained. Prepares patients, procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for procedures. Assists physicians during procedures while maintaining sterile technique. Monitors patient condition and reports changes or complications to the care team. Follows radiation safety, infection control, and patient safety protocols. Documents procedures and patient information accurately in the medical record.
