About the Role

As a vital clinical professional, you will apply specialized X-ray energy for patient diagnosis or treatment. You will perform complex radiological procedures and techniques, producing high-quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. Your role ensures patient safety, comfort, and accurate positioning while operating advanced equipment with precision and upholding imaging standards. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional attention to detail, a deep understanding of radiation safety, and a compassionate, patient-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Use independent judgment to assess the particular circumstances of each procedure and perform a broad range of imaging procedures to produce diagnostic medical images that meet the acceptability criteria established by the Department Chairman (measured by no more than 3 formal complaints by radiologists using the Technologist Audit Form).
  • Comply with all Performance Expectations of Standard III for Radiologic Technologist 95% - 98% of the time.
  • Positively identify patients and correlate procedures with the physician's order. Explain procedures to patients and address their questions or concerns before beginning. Ensure written consents are completed when required by hospital standard practice. Complete the Interdisciplinary Teaching Record (ITR) as appropriate (measured by record/chart review with 95%-98% compliance).
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area, ensuring equipment is in safe operating condition. Report equipment issues to a supervisor or seek appropriate resources for repair within one hour, 95% - 98% of the time (measured by observation and no more than 1-2 formal complaints about faulty equipment or dirty work areas per year).
  • Complete all procedures by determining appropriate patient charges and entering all information into R.I.S. 95%-98% of the time. Maintain accurate records of procedures and make appropriate entries into the medical record 95%-98% of the time.
  • Preserve patient privacy, dignity, and comfort by using table pads, patient gowns, blankets, and sheets to cover the patient during all procedures 95% - 98% of the time (measured by observation and no more than 1-2 formal complaints per year in this area).

Requirements

  • California State Department of Health Services certification as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
  • Current California license as a Certified Radiologic Technologist with a Fluoroscopic permit.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR authorized by the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT) upon hire.

Pay

$62.56 - $72.52 per hour.
