Special Procedures Nurse
Assesses and treats human responses to actual and potential health problems through services such as case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and provision of care supportive or restorative of life and well-being. Executes medical regimens prescribed by a licensed physician, dentist, or other licensed health care provider legally authorized under the NYS Education Department and in accordance with NYS Department of Health regulations. Adheres to current Kaleida policies and standards of practice.
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat human responses to actual and potential health problems.
- Provide case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and care supportive or restorative of life and well-being.
- Execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed healthcare providers in accordance with NYS regulations.
- Adhere to Kaleida Health policies and standards of practice.
Requirements
- Current NYS Registration as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Permit required upon hire and must be maintained thereafter.
- Must obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire/transfer and maintain it thereafter.
Experience
For Registered Nurse clinical positions:
- Internal applicants: Must have been employed in the same job title as the per diem position or in a comparable area of practice. Minimum of nine (9) continuous months of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted.
- External applicants: Minimum of one (1) continuous year of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted.
- All applicants must satisfy all orientation/probationary requirements.

Pay
Salary Range: $41.29 - $57.69 per hour. Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
