Special Procedure Technologist
Job Overview
Aids the nursing and physician team in coordinating daily work from a technical standpoint. Assists the Interventional Radiology team in preparing, performing, and completing all examinations both within and outside the department. Ensures adherence to quality control and quality assurance standards. Maintains patient comfort during procedures.
Qualifications
- Active, valid ARRT and NJ DEP license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of 2 years radiology experience preferred
- Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred
Scheduling Requirements
This is a Full-Time, Day position at 40 hours/week (4, 10-hour shifts, with an on-call and weekend rotation requirement).
Essential Functions
- Coordinates the daily work schedule and prepares examination rooms
- Collaborates with physicians for proper orders, requisitions, and lab results
- Ensures proper technical exposure factors using digital and conventional equipment to minimize radiation exposure
- Programs digital computer, schonander film stand, and contrast injectors
- Maintains radiation safety and protection, coordinates continuing education
