About the role
Special Olympics of Wayne County is seeking passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable volunteers to serve as pickleball coaches for local Special Olympics athletes.
Responsibilities
- Help local athletes learn and improve their pickleball skills
- Bring game knowledge, enthusiasm, commitment, and a positive attitude to each practice, event, and competition
- Meaningfully enrich the lives of athletes by building physical and social skills and instilling self-confidence
- Lead a weekly practice at a local pickleball court
- Ensure practices and events are conducted safely and according to Special Olympics guidelines
Requirements
- Knowledgable pickleball player
- At least 18 years old to be certified as a coach
Qualifications
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with all ages and abilities
- Commitment to the Special Olympics mission and values
- Ability to follow Special Olympics policies and procedures
