Special Needs Caregiver / Direct Support Professional

About the role

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals to join the team in Houtzdale, Altoona, and surrounding areas. DSPs work one-on-one in home and community settings as companions and mentors for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, helping them reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance (dressing, grooming, basic hygiene)
• Accompany clients on errands and appointments
• Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
• Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
• Participate in community integration activities

Qualifications

• One year experience working with intellectual and development disabilities/special needs
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older

Pay

Competitive pay starting at $17+/hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Part‑time roles with the possibility of additional hours and full‑time availability; flexible openings across day, evening, and weekend shifts.
