About the role
This position focuses on investigating possible violations of insurance laws and reviewing evidence to support enforcement actions. You will help keep Pennsylvania’s insurance marketplace honest and reliable.
Responsibilities
- Investigate possible violations of insurance laws and review evidence to support enforcement actions.
- Examine insurance company and producer records to identify possible violations.
- Collect and analyze statements, documents, and other materials to determine compliance with insurance laws.
- Write detailed reports that outline investigative steps, findings, and recommended actions.
- Prepare evidence and provide testimony at departmental hearings or criminal proceedings.
- Manage multiple investigations at once and organize required tasks to complete each case.
- Maintain a consistent level of professionalism when interacting with industry representatives and the public.
Requirements
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of professional experience in criminal, civil, or administrative investigation work, and a bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.

Benefits
Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
Pay
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $60,538.00 (before taxes).
