Job Summary
Organize flow of food before and during events by managing kitchen pace from order placed to service points, ensuring each order is complete and accurate.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and runners to manage order flow.
Address any issues that arise, such as incorrect orders or delays, and find solutions promptly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expediting station and surrounding areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques and knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Proficiency in reporting systems
- At least one year of food service experience in hospitals, banquets, or restaurants with experience in kitchen expediting or food service coordinating
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively between kitchen, servers, and runners.
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, food quality, and order accuracy.
- Knowledge of food handling practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations and make quick decisions.
- Able to lift and move 25-50 pounds.
- Able to stand for long hours.
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification & Alcohol Safety Certification (or willingness to complete).
- Availability to work all UW-Madison Football games
