About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Glendale, CA Details In-Person Tutoring in Glendale, CASchedule: 10 hours per month, 2 sessions a week for 1.15 hoursPay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate Credentialed teacherExperience teaching elementary-age students in reading, math, and EnglishExperience working with students with Autism, speech delays, and/or behavioral challengesStrong background in foundational literacy, including phonics, letter-sound correspondence, CVC words, blending, decoding, and early reading fluencyComfortable teaching foundational math concepts such as number recognition, counting, number sense, addition, and subtractionExperience supporting handwriting, sentence formation, and early written expressionSkilled at providing structured, highly engaging lessons for students with attention and focus challengesFamiliar with positive behavior support, redirection, reinforcement, and self-regulation strategiesPatient, energetic, and able to maintain a calm and supportive approach when challenging behaviors occurComfortable providing frequent redirection and adjusting instruction to maintain engagementAble to use visual supports, movement breaks, hands-on activities, and consistent routinesStrong ability to build rapport and incorporate student interests to increase motivationArmenian-speaking is a plus but not required Key Responsibilities Provide individualized instruction in foundational reading, writing, math, and EnglishTeach phonics, letter-sound correspondence, CVC words, blending, decoding, and early reading fluencyBuild foundational reading skills through explicit, systematic, and multisensory instructionSupport handwriting, sentence formation, and written expression through guided practiceReinforce number recognition, counting, number sense, basic addition, and subtraction skillsBreak academic tasks into clear, manageable steps to support understanding and task completionProvide structured lessons with clear expectations and consistent routinesUse visual supports, hands-on activities, movement breaks, and interactive instruction to maintain attentionImplement positive behavior support strategies and provide calm, consistent redirection when neededSupport attention, focus, engagement, self-regulation, and completion of non-preferred tasksReinforce positive behaviors through encouragement, praise, and appropriate motivational strategiesIncorporate the student's interests, including Monster Jam trucks, Paw Patrol, dinosaurs, Lightning McQueen/Cars, and puzzles, into lessons and activitiesMonitor academic and behavioral progress and adjust instruction based on the student's needsMaintain a patient, supportive, and encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and independence Why Tutor Me Education?
