About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator to join our team as a High School Mathematics Teacher. This role is essential in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students, helping them develop strong mathematical skills and a passion for the subject.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare classroom for class activities and provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work and encourage student progress.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Stay current with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods, and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Mathematics (EX) endorsement or willingness to obtain.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching high school mathematics.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and curriculum standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
