About the role
The Bancroft School is a unique educational program aiming to empower students with autism through teachable moments throughout the day. It includes traditional academic subjects, daily living and social skills, art, music, adaptive physical education, enrichment activities, and an activity pool for water safety, swim instruction, and recreation.
Responsibilities
- Assess students' individual abilities and create customized lesson plans
- Address specific Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and encourage skill-building
- Review IEPs to ensure goals are appropriate and recommend modifications
- Provide training for parents, in the classroom, and at home
- Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles throughout the educational experience of the people we serve
- Communicate with students, families, and guardians
Requirements
- Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in "NJ Pre-K to 3 or K to 6 or K-8"
- Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in “NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)” or “Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH)”
- One year of teaching experience in special education preferred
- Knowledge of teaching methods and educational programs designed for students with learning, physical and behavior disabilities
- Effective teaching and facilitation skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills required

Pay
The current hiring range for this position is $60,587-$90,000 based on years of experience.
