Special Education Teacher (SY 2026-2027)
About the role
Pharos Academy Charter School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, training, and pushing students academically and behaviorally. The school follows an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) model, where Special Education (SPED) teachers collaborate with lead teachers to co-plan lessons and create modified lesson plans based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with lead teachers to co-plan lessons & create modified lesson plans based on IEP goals.
- Identify and support students in need of additional SETTS services (individual or small group).
- Develop, modify, and/or update IEPs in a timely manner.
- Assess student's individual skills and educational needs.
- Maintain regular monitoring of student progress to ensure they are on track to meet IEP goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- A strong passion for helping students overcome challenges and develop pro-social and academic skills.
- Experience working with school-aged children in an academic or youth development setting.
- For experienced teachers, a proven track record of achievement in the classroom is essential.

Pay
Full-time teacher pay range: $80,000 - $115,000 USD. Starting salary for new or emerging teachers is $80,000. Candidates with 4+ years of experience at a high-performing K–12 school may be eligible for a higher starting salary based on sustained performance and demonstrated results related to our tiered benchmarks.
