About the role

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with their IEPs (Individualized Education Programs).
• Collaborate with special education teachers and related service providers to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
• Participate in regular meetings with the school’s special education team to discuss student progress and plan interventions.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid New York State Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Knowledge of educational technology and its integration into lesson planning.
