NSM is a student-centered, employee-owned cooperative and a year-round therapeutic school for students aged 5–22, as well as an adult Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Support Provider. Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality and effective instruction for students that correlates with Vermont proficiencies.
  • Develop, plan, and implement curriculum, lesson plans, and educational programs for student audiences within and outside areas of expertise.
  • Manage a small caseload of students.
  • Create engaging learning opportunities consistent with students’ goals, aligned with the program’s mission and vision, and Vermont proficiencies.
  • Supervise staff as needed.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures in the NSM handbook, Student and Family handbook, and state/federal requirements.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the evaluation process, IEP process, writing student goals, special education assessments, and required documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Special Educator or Educational Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Vermont, or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Qualified by both training and experience in instructional practices.
  • Preferred experience supporting students with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working with students who receive Special Education services.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative, positive relationships with all team members.
  • Valid driver’s license, current vehicle inspection, and car insurance required.

Pay

This position offers a pay plus benefits package totaling between $63,780 and $95,412 for the 2026–2027 school year, based on qualifications and experience. Salary range: $50,000–$80,000.
