Responsibilities

• Preparing lessons toward mastery of the state standards
• Collaborating with other faculty
• Small group instruction
• Differentiating instruction and providing interventions
• Working with administrators and coaches to improve performance
• Monitoring students
• Collaborating and communicating with parents and other stakeholders
• Developing and administering assessments
• Instructing students in accordance with their IEP's
• Holding IEP meetings

Requirements

• An active Tennessee teaching license with proper endorsements for Junior High School Self-Contained classroom
• Attendance is an essential function of the job

Qualifications

• Experience in special education teaching
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of state educational standards and IEP processes
