Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the specific needs of students.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in small group and individualized settings.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers to create inclusive, differentiated learning environments.
- Model and coach general education teachers in implementing strategies and interventions for students with diverse needs in the classroom.
- Use evidence-based practices to promote student engagement, self-regulation, and academic success.
- Monitor student progress, track data, and adjust instructional methods based on individual needs and goals.
- Act as a resource for staff in implementing accommodations, behavior management strategies, and supporting students' social-emotional development.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies for home support.
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide activities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification).
- Experience working with students with executive functioning and behavioral challenges, particularly in early elementary grades.
- Strong understanding of Special Education Law, IEP development, and evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, staff, and parents.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data collection, progress monitoring, and adapting instruction.
- Careful, patient, and dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development, coaching, and training.
