Special Education Teacher (Resource) - Eagle Point Middle School

About the Role

This position requires an Oregon Special Education Generalist license or an equivalent credential, or the ability to obtain the appropriate licensure prior to the start date. The role involves collaboration with school administrators, staff, students, and families to create an inclusive educational environment where all students can thrive. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in specifically designed instruction for students with disabilities, including reading, mathematics, behavior, social skills, and life skills. A strong desire to collaborate with educators, support staff, families, and external agencies is essential. The ability to adapt and implement curriculum to meet the diverse and evolving needs of students is a key component of this role.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver individualized instruction for students with disabilities.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.
• Provide leadership in developing and maintaining a continuum of special education services.
• Assist general education teachers in curriculum adaptation.
• Support students in achieving their academic and behavioral goals.
• Engage in school-wide activities beyond the classroom.
• Demonstrate effective classroom management and strong communication skills.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Oregon Special Education Generalist license or equivalent credential (or ability to obtain prior to start date).

Pay

Salary range: $46,548 - $90,846 plus a master's stipend of $2,327 (depending on approved previous experience and graduate-level credits). Special Education Teachers receive an annual Federal Compliance Stipend of $3,000. Salary is based on the current 2023-2026 Collective Bargaining Agreement and is subject to change.
