About the role
Provides in-class or pull-out services to students with identified needs in all building locations.
Responsibilities
- Supports students with special education needs in various classroom settings.
- Collaborates with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Assesses student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly.
- Participates in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Holds or is able to obtain a teaching certificate with OSPI, including the appropriate endorsement for special education.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs is preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
Skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
- Proficiency in using technology to support special education programs.
