Special Education Teacher (Pre-K)
About the role
New Haven Public Schools seeks a dedicated and experienced Teacher-Special Education to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a Comprehensive Grades Pre-K-12 Certification (065), 112, 113 in Special Education and be committed to providing inclusive educational environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to support student learning
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills
- Contribute to the overall improvement of special education programs within the district
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a Special Education certification as required by Connecticut State Statutes
- Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- At least two years of relevant teaching experience
- Knowledge of state and federal laws related to special education

- Proficient in using technology for instructional purposes

Pay
The salary for the 26-27 School Year is contingent upon degree and years of experience, ranging from $53,220 to $108,047.
