About the role
This position is responsible for designing and delivering learning experiences for students in a grade level and/or content area. The incumbent will organize and facilitate the learning process using evidence-based instructional practices and applicable technology.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver learning experiences for students in a grade level and/or content area
- Organize and facilitate the learning process utilizing a variety of evidence-based instructional practices and applicable technology
- Participate in a community of learning to develop and refine knowledge and skills for the academic, civic, social and emotional success of students
- Evaluate student progress, make appropriate adjustments, and communicate student progress
- Collaborate, reflect, and grow to improve learning opportunities for students
Requirements

- Demonstrate knowledge of the content, central concepts, inquiry, appropriate evidence-based instructional practices, and specialized characteristics of the disciplines being taught
- Demonstrate leadership in the school, the community, and the teaching profession
- Demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content taught; at elementary is an expert in literacy and mathematics and is knowledgeable in all other content; at secondary has knowledge of literacy and mathematics and is a content area expert
- Develop and implement lessons that connect to a variety of content areas and disciplines; emphasize literacy and mathematical practices
- Engage students as individuals, including those with diverse needs and interests, across a range of ability levels by adapting their teaching for the benefit of all students
- Ensure that students are supervised at all times
- Establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students
- Establish and communicate high expectations and use processes to support the development of critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Follow established policies and procedures regarding the health, safety, welfare, and education of students
- Foster a predictable learning environment characterized by acceptable student behavior and efficient use of time in which each student has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults and peers
- Instruct, assess, and differentiate for all students' academic, social, emotional, and health needs
- Integrate and utilize appropriate available technology to engage students in authentic learning experiences
- Develop and implement lessons that connect to a variety of content areas and disciplines; emphasize literacy and mathematical practices

Qualifications
- Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree
- Colorado Teaching License endorsed as Special Education Specialist - Deaf / Hard of Hearing

Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $52,020.00-$83,163.00 based on education and experience at 100% FTE. Benefits eligibility is for full-time regular employees.
