Special Education Teacher - Moderate/Severe Disabilities

About the role

This position is available for a Special Education Teacher - Moderate/Severe Disabilities starting in the 2026-2027 school year at Leuzinger High School.

Responsibilities

• Teach students with moderate/severe disabilities according to curriculum standards.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with other special education teachers and related service providers.
• Assist in the development and implementation of co-teaching assignments.

Requirements

• Valid California Education Specialist Teaching Credential - Moderate/Severe Disabilities.
• English Learner Authorization.

Qualifications

• May consider intern eligible applicants with an attached letter from their program.
• May consider PIP/STSP eligible applicants with attached official transcripts showing eligibility.
• If not currently credential holders, CBEST test results or equivalent documentation may be uploaded in lieu of credentials.

Skills

• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of special education methodologies and resources.

Benefits

The position offers appropriate placement on the Teacher Salary Schedule as per Article 3.3 of the CVSTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
