Special Education Teacher - Middle School (The Grace School)

Duties

• Collaborates and co-teaches daily with other educators and specialists in the planning, adapting, and teaching of the general education curriculum for all learners.
• Plans and implements motivating and creative age-appropriate lessons and activities to address goals as outlined in each student’s IEP.
• Collaborates with other teachers and therapists to implement an integrated educational/therapeutic model.
• Creates a learning environment where the students are stimulated and motivated to work to their best potential.

Requirements

• The position requires certification by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) as a Special Education Teacher.
• Certified in Severe Disabilities (all ages) or Mild/Moderate Disabilities (Grades PK-8) with willingness to obtain Severe Disabilities Certification.
• Position start date is August 17, 2026.
