The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation and achievement to the people we support. For 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere.
Responsibilities
- Develop students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Develop and implement lesson plans incorporating goals/objectives from all disciplines of each student's IEP
- Implement and monitor behavior and classroom management plans/techniques when necessary
- Develop and adhere to an established daily schedule, making daily modifications/adjustments as required
- Maintain communication with classroom team, parents, and program directors regarding students' performance
- Develop lesson plans incorporating the IEP goals and objectives for each student
- Reinforce appropriate student behavior by utilizing progressive discipline techniques
- Establish, communicate, and monitor clear expectations for both students and classroom staff
Requirements
- Initial NYS Certification in Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6 or Special Education Permanent
- Master’s degree in Special Education (required for permanent position; candidates with a Bachelor’s degree may be hired initially while completing their Master’s degree within a five-year timeframe)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently
Pay
Compensation Range: $64,470.45 - $73,379.53
