About the role
The Special Education Teacher/Life Skills position at Reagan County ISD is responsible for providing instruction to students in grades 6-8 with special needs. The teacher will work closely with other educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective communication and planning.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- A valid Texas teaching certificate in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
- Experience with data-driven decision making.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

- $550 monthly for health insurance.
Pay
Based on experience, the salary range is from $40,000 to $45,500 annually, plus a $4,000 stipend for Special Education services.
