Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required
• 3-5 years experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, autism and significant challenging behavior strongly preferred
• PDE certification in Special Education required
• Experience with modifying general education content to meet the diverse needs of students required
• Prior experience working with students in an extended school year teaching position preferred
• Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances
• Clearence as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals in special education skill areas
• Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods
• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior
• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program
• Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom
• Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress
• Develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
• Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.
• Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students

Pay

Salary - 2026-2027 School Year (Professional): $62,155 - $89,730
Instructional I: $64,834 - $93,324
Instructional II: $69,353 - $101,911
Master's degree: $72,740 - 105,924
Master's degree plus 15 credits: $74,415 - 107,845
Master's degree plus 30 credits: $76,080 - 108,675

Schedule

Monday- Friday, 7.5 hours/day
194 days/yr (Year 1), 191 days/yr (Year 2), 190 days/yr (Year 3 and beyond)
