Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to students receiving special education support in grades K-12. This position requires a strong commitment to collaboration, instructional support, and student success through participation in planning and implementing individualized programs. This particular assignment is for a Cross-Categorical (Mild/Moderate) Special Education Teacher supporting 11th and 12th grade math through a co-teaching model. While math experience is not required, previous high school experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide specialized instruction and support in a high school co-teaching environment.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records and documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student success planning.
- Provide tutorial assistance and consultation to general education staff.
- Support students with mild to moderate learning needs through evidence-based instructional practices.
- Maintain compliance with all district, state, and federal special education requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations.
- Minimum one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
- State Teacher Certification preferred in one or more of the following: Standard Elementary Teaching, Standard Secondary Teaching, Standard Special Teaching.
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred.
- High school teaching experience preferred.
- Meets all applicable professional standards of practice.
- Current CPR certification, if required.
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if required.
- Current health certificate, if required by contract or state regulation.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Interview Process
Interviews will be conducted with the district hiring team. Interview dates are scheduled during the hiring process.

Compensation
- Local Special Education Teacher Pay Rate: $54.00/hour
- Travel Special Education Teacher Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
- Housing Stipend: $1,020/week
- Meals & Incidentals Stipend: $583/week
- Estimated Weekly Pay Package: $2,353/week
