Responsibilities

  • providing high-quality instruction to secondary students in a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, a high level of engagement and eagerness to continue to learn and grow
  • working collaboratively with other teachers and community members to ensure continued learning of relevant skills and authentic application of those skills
  • supporting students as they develop a strong work ethic, pride in their work and the foundational skills employers have identified
  • willingness to develop/grow/promote the program to include all learners
  • differentiating instruction to ensure all students experience success

Requirements

  • current NYS certification in Special Education K-6 or K-12
  • broad skill set of effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels
  • knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments
  • knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction
  • ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
  • excellent written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

Candidates must have current NYS certification in Special Education K-6 or K-12.
