About the role
Auburn-Washburn USD 437 is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team. Additional compensation is provided to special education teachers teaching in classrooms not designed for students with significant or severe disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with other special education staff.
- Support students' social-emotional development and behavior management.
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate students with varying abilities.
Requirements
- Kansas teaching license
- Applicable endorsement(s)
- Bachelor’s degree
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
- Knowledge of current special education practices and trends
Skills
