Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction to students, both within the general education classroom and outside the general education classroom.
  • This includes planning and teaching along with the general education teacher in an inclusive general education setting.
  • Plan and modify general education curriculum.
  • Consult with general education staff and related service providers.
  • Monitor student progress in general education program.
  • Develop IEP, determine goals and objectives.
  • Prepare progress reports.
  • Organize and chair Team meetings and other meetings.
  • Administer testing for evaluations and end of term/end of year reporting.
  • Maintain contact with parents.
  • Attend building learning team meetings.
  • Direct the work of teaching assistants.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Building Principal and/or Special Education Administrator.

Qualifications

Commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The first official work day in the 2026-2027 school year will be August 31, 2026. However, new staff are required to attend several days of orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.
