About the role
The Westbrook School Department is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for their Functional Academics/FLS program. The position involves providing instruction for students in grades K-4 with a range of functional academic, life skills, and executive functioning needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in both special education and general education settings
- Support students' diverse learning needs in areas such as functional academics, life skills, and executive functioning
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Engage in collaborative work with a dedicated and supportive special education team
Requirements
- Current Maine State Special Education Certification
- Experience working with students in grades K-4 with a range of functional academic, life skills, and executive functioning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in both special education and general education settings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field preferred
- Experience with evidence-based literacy and mathematics programs
- Knowledge of and experience with related services and programming
