About the role

The Westbrook School Department is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for their Functional Academics/FLS program. The position involves providing instruction for students in grades K-4 with a range of functional academic, life skills, and executive functioning needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in both special education and general education settings
• Support students' diverse learning needs in areas such as functional academics, life skills, and executive functioning
• Participate in professional development opportunities
• Engage in collaborative work with a dedicated and supportive special education team

Requirements

• Current Maine State Special Education Certification
• Experience working with students in grades K-4 with a range of functional academic, life skills, and executive functioning needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in both special education and general education settings

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field preferred
• Experience with evidence-based literacy and mathematics programs
• Knowledge of and experience with related services and programming
