About the role
SCOE Special Education is seeking a teacher with a mild/moderate certification for our west Santa Rosa classroom that serves students with emotional/behavioral disabilities.
Responsibilities
This small class has a strong support team of dedicated professionals. The successful candidate will hold a mild/moderate certification or be intern eligible by August 1, 2026. Candidates with at least 2 years working with students in a school setting are preferred.
Requirements
- A valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Mild/Moderate or Mild/Moderate Support Needs and an EL authorization is required.
- A letter from a college, university or school district showing enrollment in a Commission-approved intern program and are eligible to apply for an Education Specialist Intern Credential.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation (within the past year).
Qualifications
- An earned Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- A Master's Degree with an emphasis in special education is preferred.
- Three (3) years successful teaching experience working with a wide range of age groups and handicapping conditions, including emotionally disturbed students is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with successful educational interventions for severely handicapped students is desired.

- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
