Special Education Teacher- Elementary Emotional Support

This position is located at the Child & Career Development Center-Engle Education Center Campus in West Grove, PA.

Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals in special education skill areas
• Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods
• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior
• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program
• Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom
• Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress
• Develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
• Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required
• Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education
• 3–5 years experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and significant challenging behavior preferred
• PDE certification in special education required or willingness to become emergency certified
• Experience with modifying general education content to meet the diverse needs of students
• Current police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)

Schedule

7.5 hours a day; 190 days per year (194 days in year one; 191 days in year two).

Pay

• Instructional I: $62,155 – $89,730/yr
• Instructional II: $64,834 – $93,324/yr
• Master’s Degree: $69,353 – $101,911/yr
• Master’s + 15 credits: $72,740 – $105,924/yr
• Master’s + 30 credits: $74,415 – $107,845/yr

Placement on salary scale is based on years of experience in a relevant role.
