Position: Special Education Teacher - Elementary Position Overview: Ridgewood Public Schools is seeking a Special Education teacher at Travell Elementary School. The ideal candidate will: Have experience and be well-versed in the instruction of reading and writing using multisensory instructional approaches ( structured literacy certification preferred )Be skilled in strategic instructionPossess behavior management training and skillsExhibit excellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrateindependent initiative with his/her professional growth Start and End Date: 08/26/26-06/30/27 plus 3 days NTO in August. Working Conditions: Full-time, permanent position, medical benefits and pension. Salary range is $70,062-$125, 242, commensurate with education and experience as per negotiated contract. Other Requirements New Jersey Elementary Teacher CertificationNew Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped CertificationMust have experience and be well versed in special instructionExperience working in both inclusion and resource settings and working with special education students in grades K-5Must be skilled in strategic instructionKnowledgeable about progress monitoring of goals and objectives, writing PLAAFPs, and overall IEP complianceSkilled in strategic instruction in the NJ Student Learning StandardsKnowledge of multi-sensory instructional strategies (structured literacy certification is preferred)Must demonstrate independent initiative for professional growthMust be able to effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and administrators both verbally and in writingMust be able to work collaboratively and have experience maintaining harmonious relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
