About the role
The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) is seeking highly motivated and energetic applicants for the position of Elementary School Operations. The district serves a diverse population of more than 25,000 students, with over half being students of color and almost half coming from low-income households. The position offers a competitive salary starting at $52,154 (25-26 TE Salary Schedule) and a length of contract of 192 days.
Responsibilities
- Identify common learning targets using standards (CCSS, SELS, Language) to ensure all students achieve high standards.
- Develop daily and weekly plans to support student growth and mastery of standards.
- Create common year-long/course plans that address essential questions and resources for student learning.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate these objectives to students.
- Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods to build engagement, collaboration, and independence.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Provide daily opportunities for students to describe their reasoning, share explanations, make conjectures, justify conclusions, argue from evidence, and negotiate meaning.
- Analyze data and adjust instruction based on student achievement, observation, and teacher practice data.
- Meet with parents/guardians to discuss their student's progress and determine priorities for their children and resource needs.
- Collaborate with peers to reflect on student achievement and teacher practice data to continuously plan and improve instruction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Official transcripts are required for formal employment.
- Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching license in Special Education.
