Special Education Teacher – Autism Program- Winslow Public Schools

Responsibilities

• Providing direct instruction and specialized programming for students with autism.
• Developing, writing, and implementing high-quality Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to guide instruction and monitor student progress.
• Creating and implementing effective Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) that reflect evidence-based practices.
• Collaborating with Ed Techs, related service providers, general education teachers, and administrators.
• Communicating effectively with families and team members to ensure consistency and support across settings.
• Contributing to an inclusive, student-centered environment that honors diverse learning needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Maine teacher certification (282 or 286 required).
• Experience Working With Students With Autism Preferred.
• Strong skills in data collection, IEP development, and behavioral programming.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to inclusive practices and positive behavioral supports.
