Position Overview
Early Intervention services support children ages 3–5 with developmental delays, disabilities, or other special needs. The program focuses on identifying strengths, addressing areas of need, and providing targeted support before kindergarten entry. Teachers play a key role in delivering individualized instruction that helps each child grow academically, socially, and developmentally.
Schedule
Start between 8:00–9:00 AM; day ends around 3:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality lessons aligned with IEP goals and curriculum standards when covering for the regular classroom teacher
- Work closely with special education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure consistent support
- Use evidence‑based behavior management and differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs
- Track student progress, attendance, and classroom activities accurately
- Assist students in both academic and functional life‑skills environments
- Uphold school policies and foster a respectful, inclusive learning environment
- Attend trainings, meetings, and team collaborations as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Valid teaching certification: PDE Type 06 (day‑to‑day substitute) or ideally PDE Type 04 (LTS)
- Experience preferred: Prior teaching experience, especially in special education or inclusive settings
- Knowledge of IEPs: Strong understanding of accommodations, modifications, and individualized supports
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic school environment
