Special Education Teacher
About the role
Boothby Therapy Services is actively hiring Special Education Teachers throughout Vermont for the 2026–2027 school year. We partner with school districts across the state and have opportunities available in a variety of settings.
We take a personalized approach and match candidates with positions based on their experience, preferred age group, instructional strengths, and geographic preferences.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities vary by placement but may include:
- Provide individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student goals and educational needs
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Monitor and document student progress using data-driven practices
- Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional development
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities
- Foster inclusive, supportive learning environments that promote student success
Requirements and Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field is required, as well as valid Vermont Special Education teaching certification or eligibility.
Experience in special education settings is preferred but not required. Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills are necessary.

Pay
Competitive compensation packages are offered, ranging from $67k-$70k for full-time opportunities, based on experience, certification level, and placement.
Schedule
Full-time opportunities are available for the 2026–2027 school year.
