Special Education Teacher
About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to support students across a variety of educational settings in the Springfield, Missouri area. Opportunities are available at all age levels, including elementary, middle school, and high school. The ideal candidate is committed to helping students achieve academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success through individualized instruction and collaboration with families and school staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide specialized instruction in accordance with student goals and educational needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families.
- Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Implement behavior intervention plans and classroom management techniques.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid Missouri teaching certificate or eligibility for Missouri certification.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Preferred:
- Previous Special Education teaching experience.
- Experience with IEP development and case management.
- Knowledge of behavior management and differentiated instruction strategies.
