About the role
Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to support students in a Resource Room setting at New Suncook School in Lovell, Maine for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who is skilled in supporting diverse learning needs and experienced in working with students who demonstrate behavioral challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services in a resource room setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction based on student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Implement effective classroom management and behavioral support strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration
- Support students in achieving academic, social, and behavioral goals
Qualifications
- Maine 282 Special Education Teacher Certification required
- Experience working with students exhibiting behavioral challenges required
- Experience teaching reading and mathematics preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families

- Hrs: 35 hours per week
- Contract Length: 35 weeks
- Start Date: September 8, 2026
- Duration: Full 2026–2027 School Year
