About the role

We are seeking mission-driven Special Education teachers with an unwavering belief in the limitless potential of ALL students and a demonstrated track record of leading students to realize rigorous academic and social emotional goals outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Responsibilities

  • Cultivating and leading a joyful learning where every child feels safe, loved and inspired to strive for and meet Brillante’s ambitious goals
  • Create and revise high quality IEPs for students and track progress to goal attainment
  • Internalize, individualize, and effectively teach rigorous curriculum that results in meaningful student achievement and growth academically, socially and behaviorally
  • Facilitate student-centered ARD meetings that honor parents as the first educator
  • Build strong and enduring relationships with parents and families and communicate regularly to share student progress and resources
  • Collect and analyze various data-sources to understand how students are progressing and collaborate with others to implement the highest-impact strategic actions to accelerate progress
  • Maintain systems for completing and managing paperwork for your case-load
  • Stay knowledgeable on Special Education law and best practices
  • Plan time effectively to manage both instructional and paperwork/compliance responsibilities
  • Serve as an active member of the Student Services team always striving to bring the perspectives of our students, families and staff members to the table
  • Learn and continuously develop your leadership and instructional practice to deepen your impact

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Current Texas certification in Special Education required
  • Current Texas certification in core content area required for specialized classroom placement
  • Teaching experience in a special education placement strongly preferred
  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish a plus
