About the role
We are seeking mission-driven Special Education teachers with an unwavering belief in the limitless potential of ALL students and a demonstrated track record of leading students to realize rigorous academic and social emotional goals outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Responsibilities
- Cultivating and leading a joyful learning where every child feels safe, loved and inspired to strive for and meet Brillante’s ambitious goals
- Create and revise high quality IEPs for students and track progress to goal attainment
- Internalize, individualize, and effectively teach rigorous curriculum that results in meaningful student achievement and growth academically, socially and behaviorally
- Facilitate student-centered ARD meetings that honor parents as the first educator
- Build strong and enduring relationships with parents and families and communicate regularly to share student progress and resources
- Collect and analyze various data-sources to understand how students are progressing and collaborate with others to implement the highest-impact strategic actions to accelerate progress
- Maintain systems for completing and managing paperwork for your case-load
- Stay knowledgeable on Special Education law and best practices
- Plan time effectively to manage both instructional and paperwork/compliance responsibilities
- Serve as an active member of the Student Services team always striving to bring the perspectives of our students, families and staff members to the table
- Learn and continuously develop your leadership and instructional practice to deepen your impact
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Current Texas certification in Special Education required
- Current Texas certification in core content area required for specialized classroom placement
- Teaching experience in a special education placement strongly preferred
- Verbal and written fluency in Spanish a plus
