Special Education Resource Teacher- Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School
About the role
The Oxford Hills School District is seeking an experienced Special Education Resource Teacher for grade 9. This position is based at OHCHS and requires a valid Maine certificate with endorsement #282. The successful candidate will report to the Building Principal/Director of Student Services and will work on a 180-day contract.
Responsibilities
- Teach special education students in a resource room setting
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide support and accommodations
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Participate in IEP meetings and develop individualized education plans
- Support students in developing social and emotional skills
- Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies
- Work closely with families to ensure consistent support and communication
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
- A valid Maine certificate with endorsement #282
- Experience working with special education students
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- At least two years of teaching experience in a special education setting
- Current first aid and CPR certifications

$46,012.50 - $81,329.34 (SY26/27) - note additional stipends for Special Education teachers*
