Special Education Paraprofessional

Essential Duties:

• Consistent and punctual "on site" attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
• Works cooperatively with teaching team to provide quality instruction and supervision
• Uses positive forms of communication with children in the classroom
• Aids the teacher by observing and supervising classroom activities
• Provides one-on-one and group instruction as directed by the classroom teacher
• Demonstrates confidentiality
• Assembles materials to be used in a particular unit
• Helps in the care of the classroom including sanitizing classroom toys and materials
• Interacts with children during play by expanding on vocabulary and social skills
• Supports the teacher by documenting objective observation notes
• Aids with inventory of supplies and equipment
• Aids with field trips
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Classroom Teacher or Preschool Principal
