About the role
The Special Education Paraprofessional position at Five Keys supports the organization's mission of uplifting individuals and families by providing essential resources. This role directly delivers instruction in a classroom setting, assisting credentialed staff in implementing lesson plans, administering assessments, and supporting students' academic and social-emotional needs.
Responsibilities
- Implementing lesson plans and activities
- Administering assessments and tests
- Tutoring students in specific skill and content areas
- Maintaining classroom discipline and providing a positive learning environment
- Supporting students in post-secondary transition planning
- Operating and maintaining instructional equipment and supplies
- Performing related duties as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of college (48 semester units)
- An associate’s degree or higher
- A passing score on a district-approved local assessment (CBEST or Paraprofessional Exam)
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and databases
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Passing results of a Live Scan (criminal background investigation)
- Successfully obtaining jail clearance for positions working in county jails or probation locations
- Submission of proof of clear TB results

Pay
The pay for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The current schedule for this position is 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with the possibility of up to 80% travel to Five Keys locations throughout California.
